Step 1: Unfold the shelf
The shelf is delivered assembled and folded upon receipt. It is placed on the floor or on a table and "folded" out to its size by lifting up one side - the shelf will then "open". Should it be difficult to unfold, the brass screws on the back can be loosened two or three times. If the bookcase is large, it is a good idea to have two people to help you erect it.
Step 2: Re-tensioning
Once the shelf is unfolded, lightly (max 1kg) retighten the shelf nuts with the enclosed 7mm spanner. Make sure shelves and vanes are at an angle (90 degrees) - a protractor can be used (for lack of a better one, a book/block can be placed on the horizontal shelf and 'slid' in against the vertical vane). A spirit level can also be used.
Step 3: Mounting
CLASSIC, OFFICE, DOUBLE, LOW
Mark off holes for suitable screws through the attached brackets at the round hole in the "keyhole" bracket (we may not include screws). Drill the holes and screw the screws into the wall (in masonry or plaster wall use rawplugs) until the screw hits the bracket.
FLOAT
Raise the shelf to the height you want it to hang - the shelf should be wadded. Mark the holes for the screws through the brackets. Screw the screws into the wall (in brickwork/plaster use rawplugs) until at least 10mm of the screw is still out of the wall.
Hook the shelf onto the brackets and screw the screws in so they make contact with the brackets.
Enclosed are braces that can be fitted if the shelf is going to be heavily loaded.
