Later, the Lissau shelving system was developed by designer and director Henrik Lissau, an airy, elegant piece of furniture made of solid wooden slats, where countless combinations are possible, the 15x24mm slats were originally surplus slats from the production of wooden blinds. The Lissau bookcase was originally produced in oak by and for Henrik Lissau's own furniture shop, which dealt in all the well-known classics. Oak was also the leading wood type for "high end" furniture and classics at that time. The bookcase was then part of the pine wave of the 70s and was exported to Scandinavia and most of Europe.
